"Go-karting
parties for children"
Do
something a bit different for your child’s birthday party!

Forget soft plays or the
local village hall - do something different for your child’s
party this year with Big Bounce’s Go Kart Parties.
We'll organise the party, providing a well-structured, fully
supervised indoor or outdoor go-karting experience for your
child and their friends. And to make things even easier, you
can either use one of our chosen venues or we can locate
somewhere nearby that would be suitable.
About the
karts
Our electric karts are
specially designed for children between 3-10 years (or a
maximum height of 1.5m. Their top speed is 6mph and the
moment the children take their foot off the accelerator the
karts automatically brake, bringing them to a smooth and
safe stop. With their light accurate steering and very
smooth controls, youngsters find driving them extremely easy
to manage. They are completely safe with a cushioned seat,
padded cockpit, front, side and rear bumpers, sturdy roll
bars, low centre of gravity and powerful regenerative
braking. If the kids do veer off course, they are brought to
a gentle halt by the inflated boundary.

Venues
We currently use three
official venues in Nottingham - Bilborough Sports Centre,
Hucknall Leisure Centre and The Long Eaton School. The
hall hire is included in the prices below. If neither of
these are near to you, then give us a call and we will try
and locate a venue which is more suitable and all you'll
have to do is pay for the hall hire - we regularly use
Gamston Community Centre in Gamston and St Jude's Church
Hall in Mapperley if these are nearer to you than one of
our official venues. To find out if one of our venues is
available on your specific date, please
contact us.
We are always on the lookout
for new venues, so if you know of a suitable venue near to
you please get in touch.

FAQ's
Is it safe?
The activity and equipment are designed with the utmost
safety in mind. However, it is essential that all drivers
adhere to the rules, listen carefully to safety briefings
and not drive beyond their capabilities. All our equipment
is regularly checked and our staff are trained to adhere to
our safety procedures.
Is it supervised?
Yes, all karting sessions are supervised by fully trained
and experienced personnel. They are in attendance throughout
every session to ensure all drivers adhere to the rules and
safety procedures and enjoy the day too!
What clothes should they
wear?
Casual clothing that is loose and comfortable and flat
shoes, preferably trainers or similar. There is no
requirement for children to wear a helmet because the Karts
are so safe.
Will they be shown what
to do?
The Big Bounce staff will ensure that each child is capable
of using the kart and that they are the prescribed age and
height. They will not let any child drive who they believe
are not able to use the kart safely. It is surprisingly easy
and great fun once they know the correct way to drive the
karts.
How does the session run?
At the start of any go karting session all drivers receive a
full safety briefing and equipment demonstration. After
checking each child's capabilities in the karts, they will
start their driving experience. The children will drive the
karts in groups of 4, then the next group of 4 children will
have a go and so on. After the initial turns we introduce
team games. At the end of the session, all children receive
a printed certificate to commemorate their karting
experience and the overall winner and birthday child both
receive a prize.
How long does the session
last?
The actual driving time will be just under an hour if you
book an hour's session, or just under 1.5 hours for a 1.5
hour session and so on, to allow time for the safety
briefing. If you use one of our venues then the hall is
either booked for two hours (1 hour and 1.5 hour parties) or
three hours (2 hour party), to give you time for the
children to eat and play any games you've organised after
the go karting session has finished – we recommend either
starting the party 15 minutes after the room booking starts
or bringing an activity to keep the children entertained, to
allow us time to set up. Allow 15 minutes before for setting
up and 15 minutes afterwards for packing away when booking
your own venue.
How many children can I
bring?
We run 1 hour parties for approximately 12 children and 1.5
hour parties for approximately 18 children. We have found
that these timings and numbers work best. We can also run 2
hour parties for approximately 24 children, but please be
aware that the children will be waiting longer for their
turns and so we recommend that you bring another activity.
If I book for 12
children, does it have to be for an hour?
No. Apart from the maximum numbers stated it's up to you.
For example, you can book a 1.5 hour party for 12 children
if you wish.
Is there a minimum number
of children?
Not as such, but we strongly recommend at least 8 children
to make the most of the format and team games.
Do I have to pay extra
for the venue?
If you use one of our venues then, no, the cost of room hire
is included in our fee. If you book your own venue then
you’ll have to pay any associated costs.
Is it really suitable for
young children?
Absolutely, the kart and circuit system are designed
specifically for young children.
What sort of venue is
suitable for a Go-Kart party?
Anywhere, as long as it’s flat. We'll need at least 15
metres by 11 metres of clear unobstructed space (50ft x
36ft) for the circuit itself and an additional area around
or near the circuit for the children and any spectators.
Suitable indoor venues could be leisure centres, school
halls, community centres, etc. Because the karts are
electric they don’t give off any exhaust fumes and they
won’t mark any indoor floors. If no electricity is available
nearby, we can bring a generator.
Is there an age and
height restriction?
The maximum height for a child is 1.5 metres. They must be
able to sit comfortably in the kart with space between the
top of their head and the chassis. The karts are designed
for children between 3-10 years old as a guide. However,
whilst 3 year olds are usually able to drive the karts, we
cannot run a party for a child who has just turned 3 years
old on their birthday. We can run a session for a child
turning 4 years old where there are 3 year olds in the party
group.
How can I arrange a
birthday party karting event?
Simply get a group of children and decide whether you have a
suitable venue or whether you wish to use one of ours. Then
call us on 0115 952 6678 or use the contact form on this
website. We will require a £30.00 deposit to secure the
booking. We ask for approximate numbers of children taking
part when booking.
Do we have to pay extra
for insurance?
No, we have £1 million public liability insurance.
How do I pay?
To secure your booking, we will need you to send a £30.00
cheque to cover the deposit. We will then send you a
confirmation letter. The balance can be paid by cheque prior
to the event or on the day of the party.
Can I leave my children
at the venue?
No, adult supervision is required. If there are more than 5
children all under 12 years of age, there must be two adults
present throughout (in addition to the our staff).
Can I hire your karts for
an event?
Of course you can. The karts can be hired for half or full
days. We can also bring them to your event for free if it is
large enough . Call us to discuss your requirements.
